Thank you so much for this. I’ve watched the video you linked to and some of the videos that he refers to in that video. Super promising. I’m hoping this won’t take more than a couple of hours, but I think that if it takes longer, it’ll still be worth it. I have over 400 Kindle books. What is so difficult is that I have tens of thousands of notes that I have made in those books, and I am not sure if they can be accessed without a Kindle or a Kindle app. The Calibre app he mentions looks promising, too.
hi Bryce! Cool, I'm glad the word is getting out, let's try to spread this as far and wide as possible. I'll also be taking the time needed to transfer all of my ebooks. I'm not looking back on this one :) I've heard you can recover everything on Kobo, which is much more of an open platform. So I'm considering getting one.
The marginalia writing, which is important to me, seems better on one of the Kobos than on my Scribe. I'll download while I can, perhaps get the Kobo for my birthday in June, and use my Scribe in the interim.
Just wanted to let you know that I've begun using my Kobo. I'm absolutely loving it, I find it better than the Kindle in terms of reading experience :) I'm glad I switched!
I downloaded all of my Kindle books in time. If you don’t mind me asking, which Kobo did you buy? I’ve read that the note-taking on the Elipsa 2E is a bit glitchy—inconsistent palm recognition, some say. But I’m so glad your Kobo is working out for you!
I got the kobo libra 7 inch. I don't do much note taking in general, just highlighting. I haven't tested this yet but I'm hoping it works well. I'm glad you managed to download everything in the nick of time!
Calibre is a great app.
